Our Director Kieran Carlin attended BelFast Forward 2020, which was a superb conference organised by Belfast Chamber. The conference hosted a wide range of speakers, bringing inspiration from Vienna to New York and leaving the audience with much food for thought. However, it was a suggestion by the Chamber in the opening remarks that gave rise to this article. The idea of a Development Corporation for the city.
“This may have been a passing remark but it got me thinking about what a Development Corporation for Belfast would do, what would its mandate be, what powers would it have, who would be involved, how would it be funded, the benefits and challenges it might face.”
Click the link below for a snapshot of what it might look like. Maybe it raises more questions than it answers but it is definitely something that, in Kieran’s opinion, is worthy of further exploration.
