Earlier this year CARLIN were delighted to receive planning approval for a sports hub in Letterkenny.
The Sports hub was commissioned by Atlantic Technological University, Donegal. It will boast a wide range of facilities including, but not limited to, outdoor sports pitches, indoor sports dome, outdoor sports and recreation with sprint tracks, a pavilion building with changing facilities and community space as well as hard and soft landscaping. The Hub is located within reasonable walking distance of key transport corridors and will have vehicular and pedestrian access.
Due to the size of the project, the proposal will be implemented in stages. Fortunately ATU Dongeal have been successful in obtaining Stream 1 funding for the facility. The Hub also is part of Project Ireland 2040, National Planning Framework.
The aim is to create a space that is appropriate for community and regional sports teams and college students, it will be a great addition to the area.
